Vashi: Womaniya 2020, an exhibition for women entrepreneurs, organized by WOW (Women Of Wisdom) under the leadership of Jasmeen Agarwal, an MBA in finance from Nagpur University saw the participation of 30 women entrepreneurs and 6 stalls of kids, at WeWork here on March 6.
The WOW group was formed by 30 women who became friends at the North Point School in Koparkhairne (where their children were schooling) on January 8, 2016. WOW has been organizing the WOW Mela every year since then in October.
Womaniya 2020 is the first initiative commemorating the International Women’s Day. Jasmeen has also formed WEC (Women Entrepreneurs Club), whose members have a coffee interactive meet every month.
Presently WOW boasts of 12 WhatsApp groups of 200 women members each and also 1 WhatsApp group of 120 male members, informed Jameen. Stating that ladies can do anything and that they must push themselves to know their own potential, Jasmeen acknowledges the support system of members like Komal Kiran, who was the chief guest at Womaniya 2020, Neha and others.
One of the exhibitors Rima Dey displayed natural herbal products, which she makes and markets to fund her work to love, rescue and feed animals. She wants to do a course in Animal Communication to intensify her work for animal welfare through her enterprising endeavor to manufacture and sell pure health products.
Shamim Shaikh with 28 years of experience in massage therapy takes pride in training youngsters in this field that can generate gainful employment. Deepa Shah of Aashapura Homemade Products displayed perfumes, sharbats, variety of papads and pickles, farsans and sabhudana.
Zeba Khan, director of Redwood Herbals had 100% organic and cruelty free skin care products on offer. Mahek and Karima of Herb Essence exhibited skin care, hair care and lip care products that they assured were 100% natural, chemical free with no sulfate and no paraben.
Some of the participants included Dr. Kavita Joshi, a naturopathic consultant and healer, Rajni Mehta of Shagun Collection, Vidhi Singh of Vidhi Singh Fine Jewels, Aditi Pandit and Shaifalee of Mahila, Kirti Fashion Collection, Shameem Mukaddam of Mars’s Closet, Madhumita, a Realtor, who also deals in authentic Kolkata sarees and interiors, Ramesh Talreja of Divine Kreations wholesaler of specialized women wear, Swati Sethi, wholesaler and retailer of Jaipuri Kurtis and Gaganpreet and Sheeba Malhotra of The Indian Queen offering finest, freshest and home-made ingredients like kharda, garam masala, turmeric powder, panchamrut and khajoor pickle, which they market through social media.
