Bharat Jadhav Organizes Visit of Seawoods (Navi Mumbai) Delegation to Ideal Ward in Pune
Pune: Ulhas alias Aaba Vasantrao Bagul, the six consecutive times elected corporator from ward no. 35, Shivdarshan Parvati, in the Pune Municipal Corporation, evoked appreciation galore from the delegation of residents of Seawoods, Navi Mumbai and journalists led by former NMMC corporators Bharat Jadhav and Kavita Jadhav’s on March 3.
Cutting across party lines, Bharat Jadhav of the BJP Seawoods and Sairaj Pratishthan organized the visit to the 1st CBSE municipal school in the country, Rajiv Gandhi Academy of E-learning, initiated by the Congress corporator Aaba Bagul in the Pune Municipal Corporation, a decade ago.
Bagul greeted Bharat and Kavita Jadhav on behalf of the delegation and Vishwarath Nayar on behalf of the journalists with a shawl and bouquet and apprised the visitors from Navi Mumbai about the school and his ward, as also the skill of elected representatives required to get funds allocated in the civic budget for visionary projects.
Kamte sir, the school administrator, informed that the 1450 students in the school till X standard and about 1000 students in the XI and XII standards include students from the lowest economic strata of society, like the balloon sellers, ear cleaners, sweepers, rickshaw drivers, housemaids, etc. Also, children of engineers, doctors, contractors, business fraternity and even an IAS officer study in this school, stated Aaba Bagul.
The school has it’s own planetarium, laundry, 650 capacity auditorium, 2 computer labs, English lab, science lab and teaches robotics, e-animation, 3-D printing, music, taekwondo karate, sports and games as part of the curriculum.
Having a tie-up with PACE Academy, 50% of the seats are reserved for students of this school to prepare for IIT CET, and has a distinction of 10 to 12 students qualifying for IIT every year.
The 5-storied school building that has an observatory was constructed at a cost of Rs. 700/- per sq. ft. with 1 lakh sq. ft. constructed area and a total cost of Rs. 10 crores. The school building has 4 lifts, 42 rooms, a hall, a theatre and a cafeteria.
Delegations from USA and Japan and 12 mayors from South Africa visited the school and lauded the PMC, stated Aaba Bagul. Stating that a city that has good tourism destinations progresses, Bagul proposes to start training courses for tourist guides. He takes senior citizens on pilgrimage trips to Kashi and organizes community celebrations of festivals of all religions in a traditional manner.
Aaba Bagul informed that 5 more e-learning schools are proposed to be started by the PMC, as also a Green School and a Sanskar School in the open on the lines of the Gurukul Schools.
Speaking about his work as a corporator, Aaba, who was elected as an independent candidate in1992 for the 1st time and subsequently joined the Congress, stated that he had stopped the common taps 30 years ago and provided 5000 individual connections then. There are 6 public gardens in his ward that houses replicas of the 7 wonders of the world, Bhimsen Joshi Kala Dalan, art gallery, butterfly park, musical fountain, mirror house (bhool bulaiya).
Aaba Bagul is presently keen to develop a herbal garden and the 1st civic garden in the country exclusively for females.
Bharat Jadhav compiled the suggestions made by the Seawood residents in the delegation for the CBSE schools in the city and submitted it to Shri Annasaheb Misal, municipal commissioner of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
