Belapur: Even as the seat sharing in the Maha Vikas Aghadi for the Navi Mumbai municipal corporation general election is being finalized, the Indian National Congress is all set to win 15 -18 wards in the 111 electoral wards general body.
The Congress is demanding about 30-32 seats and might be given about 22-24 seats, it is relibally learnt. Anil Kaushik, the Navi Mumbai Congress president claims that the Congress will bag over 20 seats comfortably and another senior Congress leader in the city. Santosh Shetty too exuded confidence that the Congress will win 18 seats very comfortably and another 4 seats in a keen contest. Both the Congress leaders remarked that the Maha Vikas Aghadi will bag over 75 seats and end Ganesh Naik’s political supremacy in the city.
The probable winners among Congress candidates could be Anil Kaushik, Mandakini Mhatre, Santosh Shetty, Ankush Sonawane, Deepak Dagdu Patil, Shardul Kaushik, Manvatkar, Ramakant Mhatre, Pal, Mrs. Tandel, Avinash Lad, Mira Patil, Sita Dalvi, Poonam Patil, Sanjay Kapoor, Arvind Naik and one seat each in Belapur village and Nerul phase 2, according to reliable sources in the Congress party.
